I’ve always liked to make things “pretty” and have always seen the beauty in people. It sounds cliché, but it’s true, and that’s what brought me to Portrait Photography.
Working with a person to create a personal or professional portrait, exploring the different aspects of their personality, and making an image that will become part of their personal history is the reason I go to work every day.
Not “just” photography
Photography is definitely an important part of achieving a final image, but there is so much more involved.
First it’s people meeting to achieve a common goal, there is planning, inspiration, creation and humanity, there are technical skills in lighting, cameras, optics and post processing, there is coaching to find the best expressions and angles, and finally there is design to bring the vision to life through production.
It is surprising to many that the time spent on actually taking the photographs is generally only 10% of the time spent on the complete project.
As Ansel Adams said “you don’t take a photograph, you make it”.
… and I look forward to making images with you.
